Gibsonburg Police Officer Maria Kisha "remains in stable condition" while recovering in the hospital after being stabbed Wednesday, according to Chief Don Karr.

The judge set bond for 25-year-old Scott Dodd at $1 million on a felonious assault charge for allegedly stabbing officer Maria Kisha.

Kisha, 25, joined the Gibsonburg Police Department in December. According to Ohio records, she began her career in Stow in March 2024.

Scott Dodd, 25, is scheduled to appear in Sandusky County District Court Friday afternoon on the first-degree felony charge.

As officers from multiple agencies searched neighborhoods, residents watched it unfold from their front porches, businesses and downtown storefronts.

Police have identified Scott Dodd as the suspect. The officer is undergoing surgery at the hospital, but more information about her condition is not known.
