Students from Valentine, Cody Kilgore and Hyannis attended the Carcass Evaluation and Bratwurst Clinic According to Jim and Lisa Pinney, On Wednesday August 26th Husker Meats held a carcass evaluation and hands on bratwurst clinic. Area students including Valentine and Cody Kilgore and Hyannis were able to make and consume their own brats. The fire was reported south of Kilgore late Thursday afternoon. The Kilgore and Cody Volunteer Fire Departments were dispatched to the report of a wildfire burning in the Niobrara River canyon area south of Kilgore near the Johnson place and the new Amish community late Thursday afternoon. According to Kilgore Fire Chief Todd Rothleutner, the Cedar Canyon Fire burned approximately 5-8 acres. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
