A Sanilac County man is dead after a farming accident in Delaware Township. The Sheriff's Office says a 67-year-old man from the Palms area was killed last Friday morning while cleaning a hay chopper on Range Line Road. He became pinned between parts of the machine. Central Dispatch got the call just after 10:30. Deputies, Delaware Township Fire, and Sanilac EMS all responded, but the man could not be saved. A Sandusky bicyclist is recovering after being struck by a car. Police say a 21-year-old man was hit while crossing South Elk Street near Mills Street just before 11:40 a.m. Monday. Investigators say a 17-year-old driver from Yale couldn't stop in time. Sanilac County officials have confirmed enough valid signatures were collected to move forward with a recall attempt against Watertown Township Treasurer Sheila Coats.
