Riviera Beach, FL

Lone Pine Estates families face flooded homes and power outages after about 15.5 inches of rain hit Riviera Beach.

Mayor Douglas Lawson and city officials are updating residents on flood conditions, pumping operations and polling site changes during a press conference Tuesday afternoon.

Days of heavy rain flooded streets and homes in Riviera Beach, displacing residents and forcing Palm Beach County election officials to move two polling locations.

More than 15 inches of rain was reported in parts of Palm Beach Gardens, Riviera Beach and The Acreage over approximately 12 hours, leaving roads flooded and prompting officials to urge residents to stay off the streets.

Questions about who is leading Riviera Beachtook center stage during a contentious city council discussion Wednesday, as some elected leaders said they were unaware of the extent of the city manager's absence following an August car crash.
