A young harbor seal is returning home after several weeks of rehabilitation at Mystic Aquarium. Peanut the harbor seal was seen on the New Hampshire coast by the aquarium’s partner, Seacoast Science Center. Peanut was spotted on July 5, and the SSC team assessed that her health was poor, as she was thin, lethargic, and appeared to have signs of infection around her mouth.
