Meriden police say forensic evidence enabled them to identify Justice Roman, 23, as being responsible for two separate shootings in the city earlier this year.

A water main break has left dozens of properties without water in Waterbury on Saturday. The city said the water main break is in the 500 block of Frost Road and about 80 properties are currently without water service. A combined $3.2-million investment has created a new recreation trail connecting East Main Street with the Wallingford town line.

A popular hiking trail in Meriden is getting an update. The Mattabesett Trail, which is apart of the Blue Blazed Trail system, will now feature an elevated boardwalk at the base of the Bradley Hubbard Resivor at Giuffrida Park. Until now hikers would have to walk through mud and water to reach the other side of the trail. The project is a collaboration between the city of Meriden, The CT Forest & Parks Association (CFPA), and Suzio Quarry, with materials and time donated.&

Police in Meriden are asking the public for help identifying driver that killed a dog in hit-and-run incident in Meriden on Friday.

A dog was found dead after a hit and run accident in Meriden on Friday. Just before 4 p.m. on Friday, a Meriden police officer located a deceased dog in the middle of the intersection at Mill Street and State Street. The dog was identified as a 15-month-old Chow Chow Husky mix named Milo. The dog had escaped from his owner’s residence without her knowledge.
