Desmond’s Army is offering a $5,000 reward for information after two cats were found abandoned in a crate inside a Shelton parking garage and later died. The animal advocacy organization said responders were called to the parking garage at Merion Riverwalk around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday after two cats that appeared to be dead were found inside a crate. When responders arrived, the condition of the cats initially led them to believe both cats had been dead for more than a day. B

A 73-year-old man who had been missing in Shelton for almost a week and a half was found dead on Monday, police said. Christopher Taylor was last seen in the area of Booth Hill Road and Clinton Drive a week ago on Friday, Aug. 14. He was reported missing on Sunday, Aug. 16.
